How to Find MAC Address in Windows : Wi-Fi and LAN

Sometime it is needed to see MAC address of the devices like Wi-Fi, LAN. Especially for Wi-Fi authentication it is important. This tutorial will show how to get Wi-Fi and LAN MAC addresses attached with the computer.

 

To do so open run (win key + r) and type cmd and press enter. This will open the command prompt. Now write the following line in command prompt and press enter (as shown in image #1):

 

ipconfig /all


Image#1 – Command Prompt: ipconfig /allAfter pressing enter a lot of text will be shown in command prompt. You will need to figure out the exact information we are looking for.


Image#2 : Find Wi-Fi MAC AddressFind Wi-Fi MAC Address:
To find Wi-Fi MAC address first find Wireless LAN Adapter Wireless Network Connection (#1 in image #2). In that section find the physical address (#2 in image #2), this (12 characters without -) is the Wi-Fi MAC address.

 


Image#3 : Find LAN MAC AddressFind LAN MAC Address:
To find LAN MAC address, first find Ethernet Adapter Local Area Connection (#1 in image #3). In that section find the physical address (#2 in image #3), this (12 characters without -) is the LAN MAC address.
